Free Repair Cafe in Redmond

The Environmental Center is hosting their free Repair Café on Monday, October 21, 2019.  The event is scheduled from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at the Redmond Library, 827 SW Deschutes Avenue.

This is a great time to bring in your broken item and give it more life. Volunteers will be on hand to attempt to repair your broken items, for FREE!

Items to bring include clothes, outdoor gear, electronics and small appliances, jewelry, small furniture and household goods. You may bring multiple items, but only 1 item will be repaired at a time.

Regular Collection Schedule on Labor Day

High Country Disposal will be operating on a normal collection schedule Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2019.

Customers with Monday garbage & recycling collection service should have carts out by 6:00 a.m. or the night before.  Due to the holiday, actual collection times may be earlier so it is important to have carts out by 6:00 a.m.

The High Country Disposal office will be closed Labor Day, September 2, 2019 and will re-open Tuesday, September 3 at 8:00 a.m.

High Country Disposal collects on all holidays except for Christmas Day and New Years Day.  This year our Wednesday through Friday customers will be affected. Pick up will be one day late for both holiday weeks.


Help Support CAN Cancer at the Deschutes County Rodeo

Friday, August 2, 2019 – come show your support!

Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo is celebrating their 100th anniversary and CAN cancer is celebrating its’ 10th anniversary.

Come early to the rodeo and help support CAN Cancer.  Around 6:30 p.m. Friday night, volunteers will be passing purple cans around asking rodeo fans for their support.

Last year rodeo goers donated close to $1,000 and over the past several years, over $6,600 has been raised by rodeo fans alone.

100% percent of your donations will help local families manage day-to-day living expenses, including fuel, travel and food costs, while receiving cancer treatment. The High Country Disposal office will be closed the 4th of July and will reopen Friday, July 5, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

  • Mercury items
  • Paint & stain
  • Propane tanks (5 gal max)


Items not Accepted

  • Business-generated hazardous waste, explosives, fireworks, ammunition, gas, cylinders, radioactive, bio-hazardous waste and barrels.
