City of Sisters Free Residential Fall Cleanup

High Country Disposal will provide free collection of yard debris, miscellaneous household waste and appliances on the customers’ regular collection day either Tuesday, November 6 or Wednesday, November 7, 2018.  Collection is only for residential households within the city of Sisters.

When and where to set out materials: Collection day will be the same day as regular garbage service, on November 6 or November 7, 2018.

All material should be set out by 7:00 a.m. in the same general location as garbage roll carts.

What to set out:

  • Up to four cubic yards of yard debris and/or miscellaneous household waste. Please separate yard debris for recycling.

(Four yards = a regular pickup truck filled to the cab)

  • Up to four appliances. All appliances must be emptied of food, water, clothing, etc.

What not to set out:

Material / Items not accepted include: sod, dirt, rocks, large furniture (i.e. couches), mattresses, hazardous waste, chemicals, paint, tires and heavy metal objects, toilets and lawn mowers.  Branches cannot exceed 4’ in length or 4” in diameter.

Free Repair Cafe in Redmond

The Environmental Center is hosting their free Repair Cafe on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.  The event is scheduled from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at the Redmond Library, 827 SW Deschutes Avenue.

This is a great time to bring in your broken item and give it more life. Volunteers will be on hand to attempt to repair your broken items, for FREE!

Items to bring include clothes, outdoor gear, electronics and small appliances, jewelry, small furniture and household goods. You may bring multiple items, but only 1 item will be repaired at a time.

Yard Debris Subscription Service

IF IT GROWS, IT GOES!

High Country Disposal offers a yard debris subscription service within the City of Redmond.

Compost your green waste and your raw fruit and vegetable scraps.  For only $5.14 per month, you’ll receive a 95-gallon yard debris cart (tan lid) that will be collected every-other-week.

Acceptable items include raw fruit and vegetable scraps, yard trimmings, grass, leaves, pine needles, brush, branches (no larger than 2” in diameter and 36” in length).

We cannot accept rocks, sod, dirt, plastic bags of any kind, plastic containers, pet waste, or garbage in the yard debris cart.   Remember If It Grows, It Goes, otherwise keep it out of the cart.

High Country Disposal Route Changes

High Country Disposal is making route changes for better efficiency.  Residential route changes will be implemented beginning the week of September 3, 2018.

High Country Disposal will notify their residential customers that will be affected with changes to their collection schedule.

 Not all residential customers will have a schedule change, but most will have a change in their collection time.  Customers are asked to have carts out by 6:00 a.m. or the night before their collection day.

High Country Disposal drivers will be working Labor Day, Monday, September 3.
