Help Reduce Contamination in the Recycling Carts

Contamination is a big problem in the commingle recycling carts. You can do your part by following your local recycling program.  If the item is not on the list as acceptable, please don’t put it in and hope it will be recycled.  It will only cause problems in the recycling process.

Plastics bags and plastic wrap (saran wrap, bubble wrap, packaging) are among the top contaminants. Plastic bags and some plastic film can be recycled at patriating grocery stores. If not, please dispose of the plastic bags and plastic film / wrap in the trash.

Contact High Country Disposal at 541-548-4984 or download a recycling guide at https://highcountrydisposal.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/HCD-Recycling-Guide_AUG-2014-FINAL-test.pdf

When in doubt – please contact your local garbage & recycling provider to find out.
